60,000 Priority Club (Targeted?) Points

Priority Club, the self proclaimed “World’s Largest Hotel Loyalty Program,” (Holiday Inn, Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza, etc.) is offering 60,000 point sign-up bonus for signing up for their co-branded Priority Club Select Visa card.

While this offer is likely targeted, last week hadn’t heard a whole of recent chatter, so I felt it was worth mentioning. The offer seems somewhat targeted judging from the email I received, but it never hurts to give it a try. While there have been rare reports of an 80,000 point sign-up bonus, you can apply for the card via this link (I don’t get a referral bonus).
Benefits:
Anyway, the points post within 6-8 weeks after first using the card. Besides the bonus, the card has some pretty good benefits, which include:
- 5x points spent on Priority Club hotels
- 2x points on restaurants, groceries, and gas
- Platinum Elite Status (50% Points Bonus, Room Upgrades, 72-Hour Guaranteed Room Availability) for as long as you have the card
- Annual free night certificate, received each year within your account anniversary date
- 10% Points rebate on award reward stays
- Annual fee ($49) waived for the first year
Analysis:
There is a fairly large points payday to be had here, but largely because I have not huge on Priority Club hotels, I would say this is an ok. Then again, unlike Lucky, I can’t say I have ever been to an Intercontinental or Crowne Plaza hotel.
Don’t get me wrong, though. This is still a pretty big bonus, and if you are looking for some free hotel stays, this is definitely a way to get there.
Aside from use redeeming for award stays, Priority Club points can be transferred to a few dozen airline programs, including Air New Zealand, ANA, British Airways, Delta, Emirates, Singapore, and United. However, most of these transfer ratios are at a rate of 1 mile per 5 points transferred, so this option is best suited if you are looking to top off a mileage account.
Point Me to the Miles 
I was lucky enough to get the 80k offer last year during the Crack the Case promo but for those that sign up with the 60k link, I’d at least try asking Chase to bump the signup bonus to 80k. It might not work but you never know, I had good luck with other Chase cards.
