“FREE” Movie Ticket with Visa Signature Card

In the credit churning world, there are 3 types of credit cards—ok 4 if you count this ideological one.

There are those that you hold for the benefits (American Express Platinum–explained here), those for the sign-up bonus (Chase Sapphire Preferred), and those for spending (American Express Premier Rewards Gold—3x on travel, 2x on gas/groceries).

Last year I signed up for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card to get the sign-up bonus when it was still at 50,000 Ultimate Rewards points.  But I never considered the benefits the card might actually have, as it is considered a “Visa Signature” card.

Only recently did I discover that like the American Express Platinum card, Visa Signature cards also have rental car protection as an included benefit, although they do not state what the cost is for utilizing the service, if there is a charge.  (As a side note, American Express charges me a flat $25 fee each time I use their rental protection.)

2-FOR-1 TICKET OFFER:
I realize the following does not follow under the heading of travel, per se, but I was delighted to hear that Fandango has a rewarding 2-for-1 offer for Visa Signature Cardholders.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Running through August 17, cardholders who buy two or more movie tickets on www.fandango.com/visasignature on a Friday for any film currently on sale for a Friday showing  will receive one (1) of their tickets to the same show free of charge, while supplies last.

Supplies are extremely limited and only good for up to one complimentary movie ticket per Visa Signature cardholder for each period of 30 days following the previous date of a purchase resulting in a complimentary movie ticket. Tickets must be purchased on a Friday and used on a Friday. Purchase must be made by a Visa Signature Cardholder in good standing exclusively through www.fandango.com/visasignature.

This offer is limited to only once every 30 days, so unless you have multiple Visa Signature Cards (which I happen to, thanks to the Hyatt Card from Chase) you will theoretically only be able get in on this offer once before the deal ends.

Anyway, see this link for the official Terms & Conditions.

FANDANGO BUCKS OFFER:
Another similar promotion Visa is running for Signature card members is essentially a 20% rebate on Fandango purchases.

From now until October 31, a $25 are marked a whopping 20% off.  Good thing I have an engineering degree to tell me that means they only cost $20! 🙂

I have not actually tried this—even though I should have done this for a Fandango purchase I made just yesterday, but the idea is they are IMMEDIATELY ready to use

“for any move, any time, at any Fandango partner theater.”

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Just like the other offer, this one is pending availability and only available once every 30 days:

“Cardholders are eligible to purchase up to four discounted Fandango Bucks (maximum of $100 in value) per calendar month.”

The Terms & Conditions for the Fandango Bucks offer can be found here.

DISCLAIMERI cannot vouch for availability or the ability of these to work right away.
Also, I do not receive a referral bonus for the Chase Sapphire Preferred or American Express Premier Rewards Gold Cards.  However, if you are considering signing up for the AMEX Platinum card, please email me for the link so that I can receive a referral bonus.
