W Thinks 1+1=3 … OR Stay 2 Nights, Get One Free
Starwood has launched a new promotion for their W brand of hotels, which they have dubbed “One Plus One Equals Three.” It’s a relativistic math!
THE PROMOTION
In all seriousness, this is actually decent good promotion. Between now and the end of this year, whenever you stay at a W property and pay with ANY American Express card, the third night is free.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
The Terms and Conditions specifically state that this offer is valid for a three-night stay only, and advance purchase is required.
ANALYSIS
This is still a decent offer, especially if you have two stays at a W hotel coming up or will be mattress running to maintain status. So essentially, this offer gives one a 33% rebate.
And I suppose since it is for pre-paid rates, if you don’t have an American Express card, you could have someone else front your rate, and then simply reimburse them.
Personally though, I think Marriott’s MegaBonus offer is a better promotion, as even the Category 1-4 restriction is less exclusive than limiting the 3rd night award to only ONE SPECIFIC brand. But the kicker for me is that MegaBonus redemption can be at a later time, at another property.
Again though, if you have some upcoming stays at W hotels, this deal could be ideal.
