I was gonna do a full-blown post for my eventful flight back from Minneapolis, except I realized I didn’t have any pictures.  I suppose I can still post about it anyway! 🙂

After hitting up the SkyClub, and asked about my chances for an upgrade.  They said I was still first on the list, but with one seat open I remarked that was too close for comfort.

As it turned out when I got to the gate, I saw I was still first on the list, so I went ahead and boarded with First Class.  And much to my delight, the scanner beeped and spit out my seat assignment in 2D.

Delta 3435
Minneapolis (MSP) – Pasco, WA (PSC)
Monday, September 3, 2012
Depart: 9:55 PM
Arrive: 11:15 PM
Duration: 3 Hr 20 Min
Aircraft: CRJ-900
Seat: 2D (First)

Soon after boarding I was kindly offered a pre-departure beverage, and went with a Woodford on the rocks.  Even though this is a common practice of Delta’s, it doesn’t always happen–especially in the event of delayed flights, so it is nice to see it happen when it does.

The service during the flight was good–not the greatest of any crew, but better than a few others on this same route.  In particular they did a fair job of providing drink refills, and even came around with the snack basket twice.

I’ve always appreciated the solace and lack of distractions when I am in the air, and this flight provided a nice bit of solace.  While enjoyable, the flight and experience  seemed like it came to all too soon when we landed in Pasco.  Maybe I am strange, but flying–especially First Class is refreshing.
