Delta Enables Economy Comfort Seats to be Selected at Time of Booking (Finally)
Last year Delta started rolling out a section of rows in coach of their two-cabin aircraft that provides a little extra room. In addition to increased legroom and up to 50% more recline, these seats offer Priority boarding and complimentary beer, wine, and cocktails on transoceanic flights. Passengers can pay extra for these seats, which Delta calls their “Economy Comfort” seating, after booking a flight.
What made it frustrating was that while SkyMiles Diamond, Platinum, and Gold Medallion members or passengers on Y, B and M fares can select these seats at no additional cost, it was not possible to select them at time of booking. Rather one had to go ahead and book the reservation, THEN open up the itinerary before selecting an Economy Comfort seat. Not the end of the world, but an inconvenience nonetheless. That is, until now.
According to Delta, the issue has been resolved and these seats (theoretically) can be selected right away:
“Booking a more comfortable seat is easier than ever.
You can now select an Economy Comfort™ seat when booking a flight at delta.com, rather than waiting until after your ticket is purchased. Simply choose Economy Comfort during your seat selection. This new process makes it easier than ever to experience more space and comfort onboard.”
ABOUT DANG TIME!
